CREATIVE CHRISTMAS: CREATING AN EPIC CHRISTMAS FEAST
By Emma Hawkins.
We hope you have enjoyed our Creative Christmas Series and gained lots of inspiration for your own Christmas. We are closing this series with one epic Feasting table along with all of the recipes to go with it. If you have the space, why not put together something like this for your own lunch? It is so impressive to look at and your guests will enjoy the buffet style experience (It also means more room on the table for decorations).
There is a little sneaky DIY project amongst this table as well… The Branch tree…. I simply picked up a sturdy branch from the paddock and painted the ends of the twigs of white and teamed them with these frosty pine cone decorations from Kmart.
When styling a table like this, it is always good to play with;
Height and levels - Stacking your dishes on top of a cake stand. I
Texture - mixing timber chopping boards with marble trays.
Linen - Bring in colour through your linen if you are feeling bold and don’t be afraid to use lots of linen and layer them.
Flowers and trimmings - more the merrier! Use trimmings, herbs and flowers in and around your dishes to create that wow factor and festive look. You can also bring in additional food that are happy to sit on their own e.g. tomatoes and or strawberries and cherries for some colour.
