Geelong polo players don dancing shoes for children’s charity.

The inaugural Big Hit Polo Ball will light up Geelong waterfront this winter, bringing together the polo stars of the Barwon region with local business and community leaders in support of children’s charity The Smith Family.

The event is being held on the evening of Friday 7th August 2015 in a heritage-listed woolstore overlooking the bay and will feature live music by local bands Trojan and Big Bash. Actress Sarah Grace, famous for her roles in Winner’s & Losers (Ch7) and Blue Heeler’s will be the celebrity guest on the night and is excited to be involved and support such a great cause.

Guests will enjoy a station-style dinner and the finest Moorabool Valley wines before dancing the night away. Organiser Michael Lawrence said: “Our sport may be associated with glamour, champagne and horse power but polo is also about teamwork and looking out for each other, and the clubs of the Surf Coast recognise that we have a role to play in helping the next generation”.

“By donating 100 per cent of the proceeds from the Big Hit Polo Ball to The Smith Family’s Winter Appeal we hope to make a real difference, as well as add an exciting new fundraising and networking event to the Geelong social calendar. This social event is also a prelude to an, Australia Day polo match in Geelong to raise further funds for The Smith Family”
